Débora Irion was born in 1963, in Santa Maria in the State of Rio Grande do Sul, in Brazil. In 1985, she graduated in Drawing and Plastic Arts from the UFSM - Santa Maria Federal University and she moved to Gramado. Between 1985 and 1997 she has been working as furniture's designer and interior decorator.
In 1998, she began to dedicate herself to her art, that is to say drawings, paintings and mostly sculptures in terracotta. When her works were figurative her sculptures were characterized by their round forms movements.
Later on she started to do panels in high and low relief and, then, little by little she adopted a new language creating lighter forms where she alternates some elements scooped with some massif ones, acquiring this way some more abstract images in which her favorite figures as horses, still appearing on a new way.
Since 2004, Débora has participated in numerous collective and individual Art exhibitions, not only in Brazil, but also in several Latin American countries. Some of her works are now part of public collections and she received several awards all along her artistic trajectory.
